Life is short.

I got the idea to go on an extended cycling trip a couple of years ago. I kept putting it off, shoving it onto a “bucket list” of things I’d love to do someday. However, I soon realized, Why am I waiting? What’s stopping me from doing it?

I didn’t have a sufficient answer to these questions, so I decided to take the first step, and I booked a one-way plane ticket to Canada. I figured if I locked myself in, it would be much harder to turn back (and I was right.) A couple of months later, I went to a local bike shop and had them ship my bike up to Canada - now it was nearly impossible to turn back.

And, here I am today (as I write this - August 4th 2017), a couple of weeks later on a plane with only a duffel bag to my name for the next month or so.

The goal is to start in Canada and make it all the way to Mexico along the Pacific Coast. I have no idea how far I’ll make it or what’s in store along the way, but that’s all part of the adventure. I’ll use this blog as a way to share my journey with you.

I hope everyone reading this blog goes out and does something bold.

What are you waiting for?
